Parker’s 3

Our Sweet Parker is 3-years-old!!! Parker is an amazing little guy and we love him so much. He is always on the move, exploring, listening, watching everything that is done around him and he absorbs it all!!

We started out his CELEBRATION Sunday night with a Pizza Party! Making Pizza is one of Parkers favorite things to do, he even has his own little rolling pin. We had a great evening with family, eating, visiting, playing, and celebrating Parker! Uncle Cody and Aunt Paige got him a T-ball set that he absolutely loves!

When I asked Parker what type of cake he wanted he said a Headphone Cake. I had to think on that one for awhile but in the end this is what I came up with and he loved it.

Started out the day going to Boot Camp with Mom. Parker is such a great support to me and is always encouraging me to work hard. He loves to watch me working out and is always smiling at me and giving me thumbs up when I look over to see him.

Next we headed to the park for a Picnic. Parker had been wanting to go to the park for a long time and it just happened to be Wonderful weather on his Birthday. We had a great time playing and feeding the Ducks. He called it his Birthday Picnic!!!

We then went to dinner at Golden Corral. Parker enjoyed mashed potatoes, mac-n-cheese, & pizza for starters. I thought it would be a fun surprise to have the employees sing to him, not the reaction I thought we would get. As soon as they started singing he clapped once and then turned to Chloe and and ignored them the best he could. As soon as they walked away he started crying. I could not get him to calm down and when that happens with Parker the vomit usually comes next, and it did. I was really glad that the bowl of rolls was on the table because He filled it within a half inch from the top. Poor kid, who would have thought a birthday song could scare someone so bad. He still wanted to open presents after so that is what we did. After Presents we went to Wal-mart so he could use his gift card and then home for more cake and ice-cream.

I asked Steve what his favorite thing about Parker’s birthday was and he loved that every time someone would tell him Happy Birthday Parker would say Thank you. The other thing was, every time he was asked how old he was Parker would say I am going to be 6.

I asked Parker a few questions and these are the answers that he gave

Favorite food? Pizza

Favorite color? Green

Favorite animal? kung Zhu (hamster toy he bought)

Favorite book? Toy Story

Favorite movie? Toy Story 3

Favorite song? Love The Temple

We LOVE Parker so much and are so Grateful and Blessed to have him in our Family!

A Few Favorites

I first started Blogging in 2008 and stopped in 2009, lame I know. Anyway I decided that I wanted to import the posts from that previous blog into this current one so everything would be together. While looking at my old posts I found a few that I really loved.

Patience Truly is a VIRTUE

I have always thought of myself as a patient person in all aspects of my life, but I am truly grateful when Heavenly Father takes the time to humble me when I am not remembering how important patience is, especially, as a Mom.

This situation has come up on other occasions when I guess you might say that I get consumed in other things and last night it was getting the kitchen clean. We were going through our regular routine at bedtime, PJ’s, reading, scriptures, prayer and then off to bed. Tyson fell asleep really fast and Parker was told to stay in his bed. I believe Parker came up 3 times because he needed to “go the the bathroom.” The first time was legit but the next two he was forcing himself to go. So I preceded to tuck him in again and said “Parker you need to stay in bed or I will have to take a token away for tomorrow.” “Otay, mom,” he tells me.

As I start cleaning the kitchen again I hear little footsteps, “Mom I need you to hold me.” I dry my hands pick him and carry him down stairs, rock him for a few minutes, tuck him in and tell him that I will come back down to check on him. Again I hear, “otay mommy.”

I once again preceded to clean the kitchen, (irritated because it is taking so long) and after about 20 min I remembered that I was going to check on Parker. Now, I should have gone down right then but I took about 5 more minutes to finish what I was dong. When I went down to his room expecting him to be asleep I find my sweet little Parker laying in bed like I told him to, wide eyed but looking so sad. I asked him why he was not able to go to sleep and this is his reply,

“I just want you to hold me Mom.” My heart pretty much sunk, as thought to myself how many times he has already asked me to hold him. I apologized to him for not taking time to hold him and he of course said “it’s otay mommy, I love you.”

After holding him in the rocking chair he asked if I would lay by him. I laid down next to him and stroked his hair and he fell soundly asleep.

Wow, I felt like an awful mother at that moment but at the same time I am so grateful for humility and that I have the opportunity to learn and grow everyday. I hope that I will remember next time that whatever it is I might be doing or trying to get done, it is not nearly as important as my precious children that I have been entrusted with or my wonderful husband who I love so much.

Butter Poop!

Parker is definitely my little helper! He loves to "help" with laundry which usually means I end up re-folding after he has put it away. He loves to unload the dishwasher, vacuum, clean the table, chairs & floor.
Recently one of his favorite things to do is help me change Chloe's diaper. Today we were changing her and when I pulled down her diaper he says,

"Mom Chloe's poop looks like butter!"

I could not resist and asked if he thought it would be yummy? To that he replies,

"ewwwwww, no way Mom, you are freakin me out Mom, freak me out."

Our Boys

I thought I needed to post some of the fun pictures of Tyson & Parker
since it has mostly been about Chloe lately.

Parker came upstairs last night and laid on the tile. Steve told him to go back to bed and he didn't want to. Steve said, you need to go downstairs even if you lay down in the hall. Of course being Parker he decided to lay down in the Hallway and fell asleep.

Tyson was so excited that he would get to feed Chloe since I am usually
the only one that can feed her at this point.

.Tyson loves to make his own sandwiches lately so I thought it would be fun to
get a picture of the lunch that he made today.

Big Brother

Tonight Tyson did the sweetest big brother act I have ever seen him do. For the longest time the boys and I have had a bedtime routine of reading upstairs, going down to bed, reading scriptures, saying prayers, and then I would lay next to Parker on the bottom bunk and with Tyson up on the top I would sing songs until they would fall asleep. Now sometimes it would take 10 minutes but other times up to 45 minutes. With our new addition coming soon Steve and I have decided that the boys need to be able to fall asleep on their own. Now, we still have our same routine except that I am only singing about 5 songs and then leave the room. Steve figured out that they fall asleep better if we leave the light on and I must say it is getting better every night.

Tonight when I left the room I could hear Parker making all kinds of noises and then Tyson crying really hard. I go into the room and Tyson says to me, "Parker is going to turn off the light." Parker and I have a chat and I leave the room, again I continue to listen and watch through the cracked door. Tyson tells Parker that he needs to stay on his bed and be quiet but of course Parker being Parker keeps it up. I see Tyson climb down, lay next to Parker and say, "OK Parker now you can go to sleep because I am sleeping by you."

That was just the sweetest thing that I have ever seen Tyson do as a big brother and it made me so proud to be his mom! I am so grateful for my beautiful family and thank my Heavenly Father every day for giving me such wonderful gifts.

Monthly Home Depot Project

My boys love the free kid workshops at Home Depot. This month they built these awesome supply holders that look like a school bus. If you have never taken your kids it is the first Saturday of each month I think from 9-12. I know that some of the Home Depots require you to sign up at the store before the workshop, so check yours out and see.

Crazy Utah Weather

The last week we have had some Crazy weather!!! Rain, thunder, lightning, and lastly a hail storm. The boys have had a great time running around in the craziness. These were some fun pictures of their first time ever really seeing hail.
Steve also got this great picture of the green behind our house, it looked like snow had covered the green.
