We had such a great time watching Tyson play T-Ball this year. This was the first time he had been involved in city sports and he had a blast. I was amazed to see the growth in Tyson from the beginning of the season to the end. The season was filled with lots of smiles and laughs while watching these little 5 year olds TRY and play the game but most of the time they were in La La Land spinning circles, playing in the dirt, talking to their friends, picking their nose, and anything else you could imagine a 5-year-old doing.
One of my favorite memories of Tyson this year was while he was “playing” pitcher. The pitchers mound was the favorite of all the boys and Tyson was able to be in that position twice. One of the times he was pitcher the ball came to him and he was so excited that he did a little dance for almost a minute before throwing the ball to first base. I wish I could have had that on camera.
Closing Ceremonies were held at Deseret Peak Aquatic Center and it just happened to be really windy and cold but Tyson could care less. Before the ceremony started Tyson and Parker went swimming, Parker lasted about 10 min and Tyson about 45 minutes. We ate hotdogs and potluck for dinner and then it was time for the Awards to be handed out.
Cha-ching, Tyson’s team was called first so we did not have to stay for the whole thing. By the time it came to the awards it was 8pm so it was nice to be able to leave at a decent hour. Tyson was so excited to go up and be given his medal which was quite impressive, more than I thought they would get.
The night was great and he is excited for next year!
