Tyson's First Day of Preschool!

We have been crossing off the calendar for the last month leading up to the big day and the day has arrived!!! Steve brought home a brand new outfit last night and Tyson was so excited for his new Iron Man 2 shirt. This morning we were up at 5 am getting ready, yes 5 am. Tyson was so excited about his NEW backpack that as soon as he was dressed he had his backpack on and had to do his hair and teeth with it on.

Tyson says to me after getting all ready, "Mom, I am a dude, a cool dude." I have to agree with his comment.

Tyson is such a great boy and I am so proud of everything he does. We are so lucky & blessed to have him a part of our family.

Summer Coming to an End

We have had such a great time this summer going to the beach, Disneyland, and Lake Powell but also staying close to home.

Things we have enjoyed doing include, feeding the ducks, swimming, setting up a new train track every morning (wooden & geotrax), picking from the garden, celebrating birthdays, playing in the creek, working on puzzles, doing projects, & of course going to Stansbury days.

The Cousins Come to Visit!!

OK so this post is a bit late since some of Steve's family stopped by to visit towards the beginning of July. We had a great time for the 3 hours that everyone was together!! Spaghetti dinner, playing with cousins, learning a few cords on the guitar, and of course visiting with Steve's sisters and brother-in-law. It is always Great when we can see his family because everyone is so spread out!

Big Brother

Tonight Tyson did the sweetest big brother act I have ever seen him do. For the longest time the boys and I have had a bedtime routine of reading upstairs, going down to bed, reading scriptures, saying prayers, and then I would lay next to Parker on the bottom bunk and with Tyson up on the top I would sing songs until they would fall asleep. Now sometimes it would take 10 minutes but other times up to 45 minutes. With our new addition coming soon Steve and I have decided that the boys need to be able to fall asleep on their own. Now, we still have our same routine except that I am only singing about 5 songs and then leave the room. Steve figured out that they fall asleep better if we leave the light on and I must say it is getting better every night.

Tonight when I left the room I could hear Parker making all kinds of noises and then Tyson crying really hard. I go into the room and Tyson says to me, "Parker is going to turn off the light." Parker and I have a chat and I leave the room, again I continue to listen and watch through the cracked door. Tyson tells Parker that he needs to stay on his bed and be quiet but of course Parker being Parker keeps it up. I see Tyson climb down, lay next to Parker and say, "OK Parker now you can go to sleep because I am sleeping by you."

That was just the sweetest thing that I have ever seen Tyson do as a big brother and it made me so proud to be his mom! I am so grateful for my beautiful family and thank my Heavenly Father every day for giving me such wonderful gifts.

Hospital Tour

Steve & I thought it would be fun for the boys to take a tour at the hospital so they would be a little familiar with where I would be for 3 days in September. All I can say is the new Tooele Mountain West Women's Center is amazing. It just opened 2 weeks ago, so we actually were able to see more than normal on the tour.
The rooms are really nice with queen size pull-out beds in the labor rooms, flat screen TV's. The room that I will be in after the c-section is really nice as well just not as big. Tyson liked that I would have my very own shower which I thought was cute. Then because they are still taking women to the hospital operating room the boys were able to see where I will actually have the c-section (we would not have been able to do that in about a week I think the nurse had said). After that we were able to go in the nursery because there were not any babies yet. The best part is they have a "nutritional room" that we can go to at any time that is stocked with FREE drinks, sandwiches, cookies and other snacks for any of us (Steve, the boys, or myself) during my stay. Yes I said FREE is that possible at a hospital, I guess time will tell.

The boys had a fun time looking at everything and I really enjoyed being able to see how secure and beautiful the facility is.

September 22nd here we come!!!

Monthly Home Depot Project

My boys love the free kid workshops at Home Depot. This month they built these awesome supply holders that look like a school bus. If you have never taken your kids it is the first Saturday of each month I think from 9-12. I know that some of the Home Depots require you to sign up at the store before the workshop, so check yours out and see.

Pizza Night at the Hudson House

I don't know about all of you but we love to make homemade pizza!! It has been a few months since we have made pizza and in the last week we have done it twice. If you have not done this as a family I would highly suggest it.

If you need a super easy and yummy crust recipe this is it.
1 3/8 cup warm water
2 tsp active dry yeast
let the yeast proof(start to foam or bubble) before adding remaining ingredients
3 TB olive oil
4 Cups flour
3/4 tsp. salt

roll out into 2 large pizzas or 4-6 smaller pizzas
I suggest putting corn meal down on your cookie sheet or pizza stone first

The fun part is letting everyone top their own pizzas!!

Have Fun

Crazy Utah Weather

The last week we have had some Crazy weather!!! Rain, thunder, lightning, and lastly a hail storm. The boys have had a great time running around in the craziness. These were some fun pictures of their first time ever really seeing hail.
Steve also got this great picture of the green behind our house, it looked like snow had covered the green.

Eat, Swim, Sleep!!!! Lake Powell Aug 2010

So I have gotten a bit behind, now it is time to play catch up.

We had a great time at Lake Powell, how could you not. The first day that we arrived is always busy and even more so this year since it was just Pops, Yamma, Me, & the boys. That night we went scouting for a spot and found a perfect beach with No Stickers (a few but not like normal).
As for the rest of the week we played on the beach, drove the wave runners more than ever before, ate lots of Yummy food, & drank a lot of RC Cola.

Tyson & Parker loved playing on the tube as long as it was not being pulled behind the boat.
We went on lots of boat rides, tons of swimming, played at and climbed Sand Mountain. A big shout out to Yamma for climbing to the top of Sand Mountain for the first time!!!!!! Here are just a few of the other pictures that were taken over the week!

Thanks for the Great Week Pops & Yamma!!!
